This is the diary of Chase Walter Wright born August 29th 2006 at 6:09PM. I'm pretty busy these days, but I'll try and keep it updated as best I can (with a little help from mom and dad)..
So I like playing with Dad, but sometimes he just doesn’t know when to quit! Take today for example. I’m playing with my trains and he comes over – just horsing around like he does – and he tries to rile me up. I finally had to tell him, “Dad, I’m trying to do some serious choo-chooing here!”

Mommy and I were reading books today. Things were going great and I got bored and wanted to play. So, I started rolling around and climbing on things. Mom put the book down. I wasn’t ready for her to stop reading. I like her to read to me even if I am doing other things.
Chase- (handing the book back to her and yelling) READ THIS BOOK TO ME MOMMY!
Mom- (yelling back) YOU NEED TO ASK ME NICELY TO READ TO YOU!
Chase- (again, yelling) YOU NEED TO ASK ME NICELY TO ASK YOU NICELY!
Earlier today I was playing with Daddy. He put me up on a ledge that Mommy does not like me to stand on and I had to tell him ”This is not a great idea, Mommy said no.” Mommy says no so much more than Daddy! Sometimes she even says no to Daddy! But, she cannot fight us both! Daddy and I just keep playing and ignore her, until she gets really mad! Then it is no fun at all!
Had a little fever and now I’ve got a little cough. I feel better but mom always wants to be sure…
Can’t blog now – I’ve got to go see what Santa left for me. But I did want to say Merry Christmas to all of you! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Mom and I had just finished reading my nap time book- and everything was going great! Then it starts, as it always does, she is hugging me, kissing me, drooling all over me! Then we have this conversation:
Mommy- Chase, do I say “I love you” too much?
Chase- Yes.
Mommy- Would you like me to stop saying it so much?
Chase- Ummm… no. thank you.
The good news is she realizes that she smothers me. The bad news is, she doesn’t seem to care- and there is no way to stop her. If I had said “Yes, I would like you to stop.” She just would have been sad- then I would have had to do something cute to make her happy. It is exhausting! She is so needy!
Just like this morning, we are cuddling on the couch, talking and laughing. Then, she starts kissing me again! So, I sat up- and again, she asks me-
Mommy- Chase, do I kiss you too much?
Chase- Yes. (Not that it matters what I say.)
Mommy- Would you like me to stop kissing you so much?
Chase- No, Mommy. I like your kisses.
I think she just likes having this conversation with me now. It seems to make her very happy- and it is Christmas time. It’s the least a guy can do. And, I do like her kisses, hugs and the nice things she says to me (I could do without all of the negative, discipliney stuff she says). But she gets so mushy over me all of the time! I just want to play! Sometimes, I just have to tell her, “That is NOT a great idea Mommy!”

So last weekend Granny and Pappa took the while family downtown Seattle to do a little Christmas shopping and have some dinner. we even got our own little room to stay in with a bed to jump on and everything!
I had fun seeing the sites downtown, even if I was a bit Leary at first…
We had dinner at some lady named Lola’s place. I don’t think I saw her there, but mommy said it’s her favorite place to go. Maybe we’ll see her next time. I do know that she makes really yummy doughnuts!
The next day daddy took me to go see some trains! They were so cool! I really loved the one with the cow-catcher on it!
Oh yeah, then we got to go up to the top of the Space Needle! We even got to have dinner up there. While we were waiting, they gave me a cookie to decorate. I put gumdrops, m&m’s, candies and frosting on it! I like cookies.
Ok, gotta go! Christmas is just too exciting!!!
This is just a quick note to tell everyone how excited I am for Christmas this year! One of my favorite things to do is to look at our Christmas tree! Every day when Daddy gets home, the first thing I say to him as I run to the door is, “look at the Christmas tree Daddy!” We had so much fun decorating it – I love all the ornaments, but my favorite is the snowman made out of marshmallows! He’s silly! I also got to pick out my very own ornament this year too. Can you guess what I picked out? I’ll give you a hint – it has wheels and it puffs. That’s right, a train! And it’s sparkly. Oh, and it has a cow-catcher on it!
Oh yeah, guess what happened this morning? It snowed! Just a little tiny bit, but still, it was snow. I really hope it snows a bunch this year. I really like snowmen and i want to make one. You need to make 3 snowballs and you put one down, and then put another one on top, and another one on top of that! (I was explaining this to mom and dad the other day, but I don’t know if they really got it. I’ll just have to show them)
Another nice thing about Christmastime is we et to eat lots of treats! And drink hot chocolate (mmmmm… chocolatey)! We made a gingerbread house the other day and I can’t stop talking about it! Every time I lie in bed I think about it. I like to think about what goes on the house to decorate it. M&M’s, frosting, gumdrops, frosting, red-hots (a little too spicy for me though…), frosting, peppermints, frosting…. I just love it all!
Ok, I gotta go see if I can con my way into some treats. “Mommy, I love you so much” usually works…..
